The Scenario and Objectives

The client needed a portal which provided online selling and buying facilities of real estate properties. The client was looking for building an online portal. The system needed to be dependable and competent with the leading web-applications in the same field. The targeted website would have to be a Real Estate Portal where the main users would be franchisees, sellers and buyers. To fulfill the requirements of the users quickly, the transactions needed to be done through franchisees. As the users of the portal would be from all over the world, it would be difficult to satisfy the requirements of the users with a single authority.

This issue was sought to be resolved through franchisees. The franchisee system would groups the users of a particular location together and transactions of the users are done through this franchisee system. The sellers can post their properties on the site by accepting the terms and conditions of the company. The property will be displayed while a buyer searches, if property matching has a minimum % value.

By using the system the seller can get in to the system from any where and he can sell the property. The buyer can buy property online at any time from any where. The unregistered users can only be provided with the facility of abstract search. Sale or any transactions will be provided for registered users only. The registered users can only ensure buying/selling property through advanced search. Advanced search have more options to express buyer needs which will fulfill his requirements.

The Solution

The customization of our existing real estate product as per the requirement was the aim. Since the front-end of the portal had to be light-weight, portable and have a striking and attractive exterior, the design was done using JavaScript and JSPs. AJAX was implemented for providing the user with a quicker interface. The system was designed to work as a website where the users of the system from all over the world use it. The system uses a fast central database. Since we dealt with large quantities of data we had to maintain the data in such a way that it does not affect the working and the overall performance of the system. The application was platform independent.
