The Scenario and Objectives

The client requirement was for establishing a portal, which would provide different holiday and travel-related services like online reservation services for flights, travels and hotels all over the globe. They wanted a high-end system that would be consistent and competent, capable of matching or even out-performing similar competitor websites. The main users of the intended portal would include resource providers like flight, travel & hotel companies and of course individuals who would like to make their travel arrangements through the Internet.

The portal would provide information about the packages with quoted rates furnished by flight, travel & hotel companies. The intending travelers can access the site online from anywhere in the world and search for the facilities they want. In case the customer is satisfied, he can reserves the package online by accepting the terms and conditions of the company. Confirmation of the reservation would be through messages. Search options are available to all the users but the reservation is available only to the registered users.

The Solution

We offered our Holiday Management product for the customer. We designed according to the choice from the template and launched a portal with in built holiday management system that successfully interfaced with the web-services of various leading groups to provide the end users with current and reliable information consistently. The multi-lingual interface was present with provisions to add more languages in the future without making changes to the existing system. The system boasted of  high security and in-built load-balancing and transparent failure features. The transaction concurrency issue was also taken care of. As the users of the portal would spread all over world, a powerful centralized database is used to keep all the transactions entered by different users, enabling every user to access his/her details from anywhere in the world.
